This organization of the games will allow us to start Sunday games approximately noon on November 10. We will play the second weekend games only on Saturday, November 16. If we are rained out, we will be able to re-schedule for Sunday, November 17. This will give most divisions three games of pool play, and two games the second weekend for winners of the pool play. We may have some exception of this if the numbers of teams end up not being multiples of 3 or 4.

  • Team fees will be $200.00 per team with a $25.00 charge for oversized rosters. Region check payments are required no later than November 8
  • Teams must be fall season core teams. All Star and EXTRA teams are no eligible.
  • All regions will be required to have referees that represent the teams that are chosen. 
  • Each region will be given a number of slots in each division they may send to the tournament.
  • Each region can use whatever process for deciding which teams will represent their region (i.e. - best record during the season, regional tournament winners, etc.)

Greetings, and welcome to the 2019 AYSO Alabama Games! The tournament committee has met and has made the initial plans for this year's tournament. We could use your help. Any who would like to participate in the planning, please contact Heather Freeman or Cathy Farless.

Staff Needed

  • REFEREES This is one of the main jobs we need to have a lot of volunteers for. If we don't have referees, we cannot hold matches. Regions will be held accountable for sending enough referees equal to the number of teams. Please send Heather, John, and/or Cathy (contact information at bottom of page) the number of referees being sent by each region.  
  • FIELD MONITORSThis job is also important. We need volunteers to be in charge of one or multiple fields for a certain length of time each day. Field Monitors will be making sure that the field(s) they are monitoring are in playable condition. If they find a field(s) not in playable condition, the Field Monitor will report to Soccer Central to consult with tournament staff in hopes of finding a resolution. In addition to field conditions, Field Monitors will ensure game balls are placed at each field as well as assist to make sure the referee has everything s/he needs prior to the beginning of each match. Field Monitors will contact Soccer Central if there are any incidents that will need administration intervention or help. 
  • COACH/REF DINNERWe will need volunteers to help us set up and take down food/beverages and video for the check-in dinner.

RCs, please help the tournament staff with finding refs and volunteers to help. It is extremely hard to pull off a successful and decent tournament with only a handful of people. A special gift will be given to the region that puts forward the most volunteers relative to the number of teams being sent. Since you know your region, you are the best advocate to ensure this happens.

The tournament will start on November 8th, with a check-in meeting for all teams including all divisions participating. Location is TBD.

2019 AYSO Alabama Games Region Information

Region Information (what we need from you) by October 26th

  1. Roster reports from Blue Sombrero (BSB) that includes the names of  coaches and identifies the training that they have completed. This is for all your teams formed for 10U-19U divisions. If you are not using BSB, an excel file with a list of players names, player AYSO IDs, and birthdates (mm/dd/yyyy). In addition, we will need coach names, phone numbers, email address(es), and a list of completed training which includes the highest training achieved, Safe Haven, and CDC Concussion training completed for this year. This will be compared to the actual rosters submitted for the teams that are chosen for the tournament. Any changes to these teams will not be considered and the team will not be allowed to play. 
  2. A list of the divisions you want to be considered for, and the number of teams you would like to participate. For example, you only have one team this fall in a division, so you only contribute that one team in that division. 
  3. If you do not plan to submit teams, please let Cathy Farless know. 
The tournament committee will confirm with the Regional Commissioners the number of teams for each region and each division no later than October 27. The sooner the committee gets the information for items 1 and 2 above, the sooner they can make this decision and get back to you.
