Behavioral Expectations

  - It is to celebrate teams who have worked hard and deserve a little recognition for it

  • Please keep a copy of the tournament rules, when available, and try to remember why we are here in the first place
  • Please remind parents to take it easy on our referees as we will not tolerate any referee abuse for any reason
  • Be an example to the kids for they will take your lead on how to act

  - We are not only teaching soccer skills, we are also teaching good sportsmanship, tolerance, and teamwork

Brackets and Sportacus

  • Brackets (Team Standings) will be posted outside of Soccer Central and will be updated throughout the day
  • Sportacus (www.sportac.us) will be updated as quickly as possible after each match
  • Both the brackets and Sportacus can be checked throughout the day to determine the progression of the tournament

Thank you for all you do to ensure our kids have a great soccer program. We couldn't do it without each of you giving your time and energy to help. We hope Saturday, November 16th ends having been a great experience and one you will look forward to in the future!

2020 AYSO Area 5C Tournament Information

Tournament Information

NOTE: We will update this page as tournament information updates

Greetings, and welcome to the 2020 AYSO Area 5C Tournament! The tournament committee has met and has made the initial plans for this year's tournament. We could use your help. Any who would like to participate in the planning, please contact Heather Freeman, Jason Lanier, or Dean Thomas.

Tournament Committee

  • Heather Freeman - Lead Tournament Director
  • Jason Lanier - Co-Director
  • Dean Thomas - Co-Director
  • Dave Rumney - Referee Administrator
  • Vernon Paulette - Scheduler.

Staff Needed

  • REFEREES This is one of the main jobs we need to have a lot of volunteers for. If we don't have referees, we cannot hold matches. If you are a Regional Certified Referee and would like to officiate games, please contact Dave Rumney/Area Referee Administrator at 256-684-1110.
  • FIELD MONITORSThis job is also important. We need volunteers to be in charge of one or multiple fields for a certain length of time each day. Field Monitors will be making sure that the field(s) they are monitoring are in playable condition. If they find a field(s) not in playable condition, the Field Monitor will report to Soccer Central to consult with tournament staff in hopes of finding a resolution. In addition to field conditions, Field Monitors will ensure game balls are present at each field as well as assist to make sure the referee has everything s/he needs prior to the beginning of each match. Field Monitors will contact Soccer Central if there are any incidents that will need administration intervention or help. If you would like to be a Field Monitor, please contact Heather Freeman / Lead Tournament Director at 256-424-3070.
  • COACH/REF DINNERWe will need volunteers to help us set up and take down food/beverages and video for the check-in dinner. If you would like to help with the Coach/Ref Dinner, and/or you have ideas where to hold the dinner, please contact Heather Freeman / Lead Tournament Director at 256-424-3070.

RCs, coaches, and referees, please help the tournament staff with finding refs and volunteers to help. It is extremely hard to pull off a successful and decent tournament with only a handful of people. Since you know your region, you are the best advocate to ensure this happens. We appreciate your help.

The tournament will start on November 7th. However, we will have a check-in meeting for all teams including all divisions participating prior to the first day of the tournament. The date, time, and location are TBD.

Thank you all! We appreciate all you do to ensure our kids have the best programs we can provide. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
